Falcon boys remain unbeaten in WVC play

The OABCIG boys’ basketball team defeated Lawton-Bronson and lost to South Central Calhoun County in varsity play last week. The win over L-B kept the Falcons perfect in the conference at 5-0. The team’s overall record heading into this week is 6-4.

OABCIG 58, L-B 40

Falcon coach Steve Brown noted the importance of defeating L-B in a conference game in Ida Grove Friday.

The victory left OABCIG and Siouxland Christian as the only two unbeaten teams in the WVC at 5-0. River Valley is close behind at 4-1, but the Falcons own a possible tiebreaker over River Valley by virtue of the Falcons victory over River Valley earlier this season. The loss dropped L-B to 3-2.

“We talked to the kids about how important winning this game was to our goal of winning the conference championship,” said Brown. “We’ve got Woodbury Central, Ridge View and Westwood before we play Siouxland Christian and, hopefully, we are undefeated when we play Siouxland Christian, because they will probably be undefeated when they play us.”
