IG council gives go-ahead to seek bids on street work

The Ida Grove City Council  gave the go ahead to seek bids on city street repairs and voted against spraying for mosquitoes July 2.

The council reviewed a list of possible street repairs to be completed in the 2019 fiscal year, which began July 1. The possible projects are:

Asphalt work—Quimby between Fifth and Seventh Streets (overlay); Moorehead Street between Fifth and Seventh Streets (overlay); Virginia Street (overlay); alley between Virginia Street and Highway 59/175 (current gravel alley between Subway and MidAmerican Energy, would be replaced with six inches of asphalt); First Street between Main Street and Second Street; Fourth Street, from Quimby to Burns or Moorehead Streets; First Street from Warren Street to the gravel (overlay); Court Street from Fifth Street to Seventh Street (seal coat); Court Street from Second Street to Third Street (overlay); Fairlane Street (alligatored); Third Street, 300 block and the alley in the 600 block between Quimby Street and Taylor Street (currently rock, converting to a four-inch hard surface).
