After graduating from the University of Minnesota with an engineering degree, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed on a ship during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, he worked in engineering sales in the western U.S. where he enjoyed snow skiing and snowmobiling. He later moved to Walker, MN where he purchased the Norwegian gift store, Liten Hus, and met the love of his life, Bev.

“Bev and Bob” enjoyed a very blessed life together traveling to many countries; they were especially fond of their time in Norway and Arizona. While in Walker, Bob spent his time woodworking, specializing in making pens and lefse sticks. Bob loved boating and basking in the sun. He was involved in Sons of Norway and held “Board Meetings” in his favorite place, his shop.

Bob cherished his roots in McIntosh and his friendships everywhere, fostering those relationships until the end. With the response shown by people across the country, it is clear Bob was simply a wonderful man who loved.

Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bev, and his beloved sister, Gail. His niece and nephew whom he loved like his own children: Karen (Urness) and Christopher Quinn and their children Leah, Colin, Lucas, and Lance, Michael and Leora Urness and their children Stephan, Bianca, Aisha, and Shaley. Bob was a special father figure to Bev’s daughter, Megan Mary Corr of Walker.
