It has been my tradition over the past decade or so to use one of my May columns to pen a message to graduates. The message is often fairly similar, though it changes in the same way I do. Some of it might even seem a little cliché, though there's a reason for that … these are things graduates need to hear.
The Iowa House concluded the final year of the 90th General Assembly at 4:23 a.m. on Saturday, April 20. It was a highly productive session with many pieces of great legislation passed, and is always the case, some important business that did not make it across the finish line.
This Sunday, May 12 is Mother’s Day! While I don’t really believe this holiday is greater than, say, Easter or Christmas, I do think there is something special about having a day just to honor Moms.
