Memorial restoration will honor area’s fallen sons

Dark days were on the minds of area residents as war and pandemic loomed in the headlines.

In many ways, it would have felt much like today.

Still, as northwestern Iowans rejoiced at the end of World War I and looked to move forward after enduring years of pandemic, an area businessman took the lead in remembering fallen sons lost to the war and recalling their sacrifice.
