Robinette Morrow
Robinette Morrow
1933 – 2025
Robinette Fern (Miller) Morrow, affectionately known as Robbie, passed away on May 3, 2025, at the age of 91. A lifelong adventurer in both spirit and geography, Robbie brought warmth, humor, and a sparkle to the lives of everyone who knew her.
Born on Nov. 16, 1933, in Sioux City, to William French Miller and Luella Fern (Naeve) Miller, Robbie graduated from Central High School in 1952 and went on to attend Wayne State Teacher’s College. In July of 1955, she married the love of her life, Francis Morrow, and together they built a life full of laughter, love, and beautiful homes - 17 of them, in fact, all lovingly decorated by Robbie’s creative touch.
Her professional journey was just as colorful - she wore many hats, from teacher to social worker, and left her mark in places like Hartington, Nebraska; Alta, Churdan, Wall Lake, and Conrad, Iowa. Later, she earned a degree in Social Work from Buena Vista College. In retirement, Robbie and Fran continued their adventure, spending several winters in Arizona, living in Prince’s Lake, Indiana; Tekamah, Nebraska; West Des Moines and finally Des Moines.
Robbie was always on the move, whether boating, golfing, gardening, playing a lively game of Bridge, attending PEO meetings, or many of the church roles she held in all towns. But what she loved most was sharing time with her four children and their families.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 70 years, Francis; her children Martin (Karen) of Marion, Iowa, Karen (Edwin) Bennett of Parker, Colorado, and Gregory (Becky) of West Des Moines; her siblings Robert, Harold, Donald, Doug, and Geneva; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Robbie now joins those who went before her: her parents; her brothers Jerry, Warren, Ronald, and Forrest; her sister Sally; and her son Stephen (Kathy).
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Robbie’s light lives on in every laugh, every story, and every beautifully set table shared in her memory.
