This year’s Lohff-Schumann Annual cookie fundraiser will take place at the old Holstein City Hall building at 119 S. Main Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 6.
The event is called Cookies, Cocoa, and Coffee for Claus.
The last two cookie fundraisers took place at the American Legion Hall.
Other than the location change, the biggest difference is that there will be no vendors.

The 43rd annual Ducks Unlimited Maple River Chapter banquet took place on Nov. 22 at the Ida Grove Skate Palace.
The crowd that gathered may have been the largest yet for a banquet.
The 2025 event drew 35 sponsors.
Cash and prize donations were made by 50 individuals and businesses.
Items were raffled off throughout the evening in a variety of formats, culminating in a live auction of 21 items.
Wendy Mosier said having a retail shop was always something she thought would be fun to do.
In early 2024, she decided to give it a shot.
Rose’s riches opened in early March, last year.
Now, as the shop is nearing 21 months in operation, she is glad she made the decision.

Kids visited with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Godbersen Park; Mr. and Mrs. Claus were brought to Ida Grove for Sunday by Farm Bureau Financial Services/Denise Van Dusen and Knop Photography.
A hot cocoa bar at the Gathering Place was sponsored by Ida Grove Community Partners.
A ribbon cutting ceremony took place for the Ida Grove Public Library’s new gazebo on Sunday, Nov. 23.
Major funding for the project came from the Ida County Betterment Foundation, the Wesley Kirkholm Trust, and the Brian and Genise Bald Charitable Giving Fund.
The gazebo is dedicated to the memory of Gladys and Jens Kirkholm, Dennis and Marlene Foxhoven, and Carole West Brudevold.
The 50th Anniversary of State Dance competition is drawing OABCIG girls.
The Iowa State Dance Team Association will mark its half century of competition with the Iowa State Dance & Drill Team Championship set for Dec. 3 to 5 in Des Moines.
High school and college students take part in the event, with categories including pom, hip hop, jazzy, contemporary, lyrical, military, kick, hoopla, novelty, lights, prop, co-ed and color guard as will as The M.I.X.
The Ridge View dance squad will be performing at the Iowa State Drill & Dance Team (ISDTA) competition on Dec. 4 at Des Moines.
Dance squad members Alyssa Biede, Reese Hawthorne, Naunika Crum, Mylee Dvorak, Bryli Blunk, Savannah Lesher, Alyvia Allerdings, Emlynn Winkel, Marleigh Banks, and Laney Georg will put their talents on display in categories including “Jazz” and “Hip Hop.”
