Conner Jacobson (150 pounds), Kody Jacobson (175), and Blake Myrtue (190) of the Ridge View wrestling squad all qualified for the State Wrestling tournament on Saturday, at the class 1A district wrestling tournament in Mapleton.
The OABCIG boys bowling squad outdueled Sioux Central on Thursday in Ida Grove, 2800-2288. In round one, Blaise Wilcox had the high game with a 234, followed by Ben Hofmeister with a 215. Wilcox also had the high two-game series with a 436, followed by Chase Miesner with a 396.
The Ridge View boys basketball squad played host to East Sac County on Thursday night in Holstein. A hotly-contested first quarter saw the Raiders take an 11-8 lead over the Raptors.
OABCIG team by five points at 72-67. A high-scoring first quarter ended with the Falcons ahead 19-17. OABCIG used a strong second quarter, in which they outscored the Mustangs 22-16, to build a 41-33 halftime advantage.
The Alta-Aurelia boys basketball squad got off to a blistering start on Tuesday night in Ida Grove, racing out to a 25-17 lead after the first quarter.
The Alta-Aurelia girls basketball squad paid a visit to Ida Grove on Tuesday night, to take on the home team Falcons of OABCIG. The Warriors jumped out to an 8-2 lead, but the Falcons whittled it down to three at 12-9 after one quarter of play.
The Ridge View boys basketball squad almost reached the century mark in points last Monday night, as they went north to Storm Lake and crushed the St. Mary’s Panthers 97-14.
The Ridge View girls basketball squad traveled to Storm Lake last Monday, to take on St. Mary’s at the Panther Pit. Though the lighting was dim, the Raptors were able to see clearly enough to jump out to a 14-4 lead after one quarter.
In the rubber match between Ida County rivals OABCIG and Ridge View, the Falcons had just enough to get past the Raptors on Friday night in Ida Grove. The two squads had both won on each other’s home courts earlier in the season.
