The Raptor boys golf squad won second place at the Western Valley Conference golf meet, held Friday afternoon at the Ida Grove golf course. Ridge View had a team score of 168, second only to host school OABCIG with a 162.
The OABCIG boys golf squad captured first place in the Western Valley Conference meet, held at the Ida Grove golf course on Friday afternoon. The Falcons had the low team score of 162, followed closely by Ridge View in second place with a 168.
The Ridge View track and field squads made good showings at Le Mars on Thursday evening. The girls team won third place with 92 team points, behind only MOC-Floyd Valley and Orange City-Unity Christian, with 157 and 108 points, respectively.
The OABCIG track and field squads traveled north to Cherokee on Thursday, to compete in the Lynn Jolly Relays. The Falcon girls team placed ninth out of 13 teams with 49 points. The host school, Cherokee Washington, won the event with 100 points.
The Ridge View boys’ golf team will look to returning talent as a new season gets underway. The Raptors will have several players back in their lineup who enjoyed a successful season last year.
The Ridge View girls’ golf squad is ready for another fun season. Coach Brian Bode has several experienced players returning, including sophomore Zoey Aschinger, who was named to the All-Conference team as a freshman last year.
The OABCIG boys and girls track and field squads made the trek to Sioux Center last Monday, to participate in the Dordt University Indoor meet. In girls’ action, Addisyn Pritchard captured third place out of 27 competitors in the long jump, with a leap of 15 feet 5 inches.
The Ida County Fair Board hosted a miniature golf tournament fundraiser, on Friday night in Holstein. Various businesses, including Backdraft, CornerHaus, State Farm Insurance, Amy’s Signs and Design, Spirits Stogies & Stuff, Stevenson’s Hardware, Mark’s Epoxy, and United Bank of Iowa, participated with a mini-golf hole in their store.
