When most Iowans think of the infamous blizzard of 1975, they think of two weeks digging out of 10’ drifts, making tunnels to feed cattle, and days of canceled school. For Tess (Skaren) Crist , 60, of Ida Grove, she fondly remembers an entirely different kind of event. It was January 10 of that year when she received her first letter from her middle school pen pal.
