Raptors’ Deeds making history

The Ridge View student who took a girls’ state wrestling championship is no latecomer to the sport.

Indeed, wrestling has long been part of Izzy Deeds’s life.

“Since third grade, so this is her ninth year,” said Nicole Deeds, Izzy’s mother.

Nicole takes a pragmatic view of how Izzy got involved in the sport.

“I think she just wanted to beat up boys,” joked Nicole. “She’s always been a tomboy.”
