The OABCIG boys and girls track and field squads made the trek to Sioux Center last Monday, to participate in the Dordt University Indoor meet. In girls’ action, Addisyn Pritchard captured third place out of 27 competitors in the long jump, with a leap of 15 feet 5 inches.
The Ida County Fair Board hosted a miniature golf tournament fundraiser, on Friday night in Holstein. Various businesses, including Backdraft, CornerHaus, State Farm Insurance, Amy’s Signs and Design, Spirits Stogies & Stuff, Stevenson’s Hardware, Mark’s Epoxy, and United Bank of Iowa, participated with a mini-golf hole in their store.
The OABCIG boys’ track and field squad has some big shoes to fill from last year. Lost to graduation are speedsters Gabe Winterrowd, Treyten Kolar, Beckett DeJean and Josh Peters.

The Ridge View girls' track and field squad is excited for a new season to begin. The Raptors have several returning athletes who competed at the state track meet last year, in addition to setting school records.
The Ridge View boys' track and field squad, under the guidance of head coach Dale Tokheim, are rarin’ to go as a new season gets underway. Tokheim is in his ninth year as head coach, and has been an assistant coach at Ridge View since 2012.
The Ridge View girls’ track and field squad traveled to Storm Lake on Friday, to participate in the Buena Vista University Indoor Meet. The Raptors performance was highlighted by a first place showing by Madison Stowater in the high jump competition.
The Ridge View boys’ track and field squad made the trip to Humboldt on Friday, to compete in the Nielsen Family Indoor Meet. The Raptors made a strong showing, led by Isaac Goettsch with a first place finish out of 40 runners in the 60 meter dash.
