Pink balloons and pretty dresses were scattered amongst the gym floor along with the fathers of these pretty girls in the pretty dresses. What was happening? The OABCIG father-daughter dance happened on March 16 starting at 5 p.m. When the fathers and daughters were not dancing or at least bouncing balloons around, they stopped for a bite to eat. Tables were lined with pink tablecloths and heart-shaped balloon centerpieces.
John Jacobson, former Fire Chief of the Ida Grove fire department, sat down for a visit recently about the department and what they do. Jacobson is now Second Foreman of the fire department. John described some aspects of the group’s activities.
