The Galva-Holstein Board of Education met on Monday, January 8 in the Holstein Media Center. Board members in attendance were Grant Aschinger, Tara Ruble, Beth Schossow, Jamie Whitmer, Matthew Wittrock and Jeff Witzke, as well as Superintendent Adam Bisenius.
The Battle Creek City Council met on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at the Community Hall. Council members in attendance were Jary Vermeys, Jill Wingert, Judy Schau, Abby Funderman, and Jeanette Holmes, as well as Mayor Pierce.
The Part-time Aviators are a band and musical group coming to entertain us at the King on Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. The members of the band are Jarred Bumann, Tom Larson, Aedan Hickey, Kevin Gentry, and Aaron Larson. They have been playing together as a band for about two-and-half years now.
The Ida County Board of Supervisors met on Jan. 2. Schubert was appointed 2024 Board Chair, and Whiteing was appointed 2024 Vice Chair. The supervisors decided to keep meeting times on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 9 a.m.
