The Ida County Fair Queen contest is celebrating the 40th Anniversary at this year’s fair. The 2024 Queen Contest will take place on Wednesday, July 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the grandstand.
Sisters Allison Moore, 15, and Mallory Moore, 20, from Ida Grove have a good combination of baking ability and entrepreneurial spirit. The pair have started their own business, Grove Girls Sweets & Treats, and the business is growing faster than they had imagined.
They call themselves the Honorary Lutheran or the Ida Grove Quilters. These ladies from different area churches gather at the Lutheran Church in Ida Grove on Tuesdays to sew and piece together quilts which they give to those in need. Ann Sears says,
Midwest Industries contributed $25,000 to the Horn Memorial Hospital ER/Lab Expansion and Renovation Project with naming rights to the Medication Room. This donation is just one of the ways Midwest Industries supports healthcare in our community. Present in the photo are Midwest staff who also serve as First Responders.
The Ida Grove Chamber of Commerce held its annual Patti Haack Memorial golf tournament on Wednesday, July 10 at the Ida Grove Golf Course & Country Club.
