Cheryl Gerry, owner of Details flower shop in downtown Sac City, recently sat down for a visit about her store.
Cheryl gave a brief description of what she has to offer.
“First and foremost I’m a florist,” said Gerry, “and I’m taking care of all the everyday and specialty holidays, such
as birthdays. I like to specialize in funerals and weddings. I have a passion for what I do, and I tell everybody that I
consider what I do a gift. I think outside the box and try to be especially creative for my customers.”

Douglas Center School experiences upgrade

HOLSTEIN - The Douglas Center School is waiting for the finishing touches of an upgrade to the historic
site.
The exterior of the Douglas Center School is noticeably improved in recent weeks.
Painting, new entrance and new planters were part of the work.
Originally from outside of town, the old school was moved into Holstein and has been a familiar sight,
though with some paint peeling in recent years.
“It was getting to be in disrepair,” said Holstein Mayor Kathy Breyfogle.

Late Mail Delivery

Due to the Juneteenth holiday, the Post Office is closed on June 19, therefore delivery for mail customers will be a day late.

Everyone has a history that makes them who they are today. Ida Grove’s is especially interesting, and now it is time to celebrate it. The time has come this summer for Ida Grove Heritage Days, happening June 27-June 30. On the 27th, the celebration kicks off with the 2nd & Main Farmers’ Market, a grill out, a movie in the park, and more to start the Heritage Days celebration.

Bring Home The Gold Holstein Kinderfest 2024

Holstein held their town festival Kinderfest on June 13-15, which included lots of fun ativities for adults and children. There was a corn hole tournament, a car show, Holstein Chamber golf tournament, inflatables, a parade and more!

McNamara-Moore American Legion Post fishing contest

With the arrival of Ida Grove's Heritage Days observance, the McNamara-Moore American Legion Post and the SAL Squadron 61 will be sponsoring the fishing contest open to all kids old enough to grab a pole up through age 15.
