The Raptor girls track and field squad hosted the Ridge View Relays in Holstein on Tuesday. The Ridge View ladies won the 12-team event with a team score of 135 points, compared to second place Sioux Central with 112 points.
The Raptor boys track and field squad captured second place at the Ridge View Relays in Holstein on Tuesday. The Raptors had a total team score of 136.5 points, second only to West Monona with 143 points.
D1 swimming athlete and OABCIG 6th grader, Wyatt Van Houten has been swimming his way through championships this March and April. He attended the GISL (Great Iowa Swim League) Short Course Championships on March 11, at the Des Moines YMCA, where he took 1st place in the 11-12 boys, 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard IM, 50-yard free, 200-yard back, 100-yard back, and was awarded the 11-12 boys high point trophy.
The Falcon girls golf team took home first place at the Western Valley Conference tournament last Monday in Ida Grove. OABCIG had a total team score of 221, narrowly defeating second place MVAO-COU, who shot a 223. The Falcons were led by Rylee Krayenhagen and Bente de Vries, who fired identical scores of 51. Gwen Jacobson turned in a score of 58, followed by Natalie Burk with a 61. Right behind her was Hayden Zimmerman with a 63 and Jocelynn Maier with a 71.

Teammate Kane Ladwig finished as the runner-up with a score of 37. The Falcons’ total team score was 155, just getting past second-place Ridge View with a score of 162. Kale Ladwig fired a 40, while Ben Hofmeister turned in a score of 43. Right behind him was Griffin Diersen with a 44, while Damon Dausel contributed a 56.
The Falcon boys and girls track squads took part in the SBL Warriors Relays on Tuesday in Sergeant Bluff. In boys results, Brysen Kolar finished fourth in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 10 inches. In the discus throw, Kyle Spotts captured fourth place with a toss of 122 feet, 6 inches, while Gavin Remer took eighth place with a throw of 114 feet, 1 inch. Spotts also won third place in the shot put competition with a toss of 42 feet, 4 inches.

The Raptors were led by Beth Mentzer with a 59, followed closely by Emma Mentzer with a 63. Zoey Aschinger fired a 66, while Natalie Madsen and Callie Wendt shot identical scores of 70. Kierstin Volkert was right behind them with a score of 71.

Ridge View took second place with a team score of 167, bettered only by Kingsley-Pierson with a score of 164. The Raptors defeated Westwood (171) and MVAO-COU (196). Ridge View’s Kellen Clausen won medalist honors by firing a 35. Drew Burk turned in a score of 43, followed closely by Gavin Vohs with a 44. Right behind them was Levi Albers with a 45, while Jackson Struck fired a 48 and Cayden Clausen contributed a 51.

The Raptors were led by Kellen Clausen and Gavin Vohs, who both fired identical scores of 39. They were followed closely by Drew Burk with a 40 and Levi Albers with a 44. Cayden Clausen turned in a score of 49, while Jackson Struck contributed a 54.
The OABCIG girls track and field squad traveled to Woodbine on Tuesday to take part in the annual Rod Smith Invitational track meet. In the 100 meter dash, Kylee O’Brien took 18th place with a time of 16.08 seconds. In the 800 meter run, Whitney Johnson captured 10th place in a time of 3:41.25. Olivia Schnabel won 4th place in the 3,000 meter run, turning in a time of 14:08.92.
